The Sphynx personality is very unique. They are extremely affectionate, sweet-tempered and will thrive in a house filled with people and other pets. The most distinctive feature of the Sphynx cat is its appearance of hairlessness.
Sphynx are gentle and sweet, very social and easily accept other animals, including dogs. This cat loves contact with humans and enjoys physical contact with them. They love to sleep in your lap or your bed cuddled under the blanket. Sphynx are very attentive and curious creatures, react quickly to the environment and are constantly purring to express their reaction to it. These qualities make a Sphynx a great friend for human.
Sphynx prefers the company of people but are great with dogs and other cats. A Sphynx thrives on human attention and should never be left alone for long periods of time. Unless their human companions are home full time, they do best with at least one constant companion animal. A dog or cat makes a good friend for a Sphynx but they seem to prefer the company of another Sphynx. Two Sphynxs interact and play with each other in their own special way. They love children of all ages, grandparents and all visitors to the house.
The Sphynx is of medium size body conformation with substantial weight for its size. Females are generally smaller than males. The head shape is a modified wedge, with prominent cheekbones and whisker pads giving a squared appearance to the muzzle. The body is warm and soft to the touch, with a skin texture skin to either a soft peach or velvet cloth. The Sphynx is sweet-tempered, lively, intelligent, and amenable to handling.
